  • Impedance matching contact configuration
  • Minimized standing wave reflections
  • Capable of data transmission rates of 100Mbps
  • Large surface mating area for long contact life
  • Multiple points of contact for connection integrity
  • Mating life of 750 or 1,000 cycles minimum
  • Highest reliablitiy contact material-beryllium copper
  • Contacts are not damaged when overstressed by smaller modular plugs

Applications

Local Area Networks            Patch Panels
Wide Area Networks            Passive Hub
Mulit Access Unit                   Active Hub
Modems                               Computer Peripherals

Low Profile Ground Strap DT Series

  • Compatible with all FCC standard 6 and 8 position plugs
  • Utilizes ground strap contact
  • No special on non-standard male connectors required
  • Provides more efficient EMI transfer and control than standard spring contacts
  • Grounding is from cable drain wire pierced by contact blade (of plug) mated to ground stap contact
  • Ground strap body has better width-to-depth coupling through the ground path compared to standard body
  • Ground strap is not interleaved with any contacts carrying data signals to reduce signal coupling through the ground path
  • Ground strap solder post located at side of connector, physically away from signal traces, and can be surrounded by ground place of PCB
  • Available in left hand or right hand version

Features/Benefits

  • Conforms to Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Requirements that a peson cannot reach parts that involve risk of electric shock reducing product liablity
  • Meets requirements of International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) safety probe test
  • Spring contact cannot be reached by UL (IEC) Test Finger Probe when inserted into the opening of the plug
  • No moving covers needed and unique design prevents bypassing safety doors
  • Recessed, protected contact mating portion
  • Rectangular surface mating area for good contact life
  • Multiple points of contact for connection integrity
  • Mating life of 500 or 750 cycles minimum
  • Highest reliability contact material-beryllium copper
  • Contacts are not damaged when overstressed by small modular plugs

Applications

This part has been designed to prevent access to parts that involve risk of electrical shock.  Some examples are: Telephones (ringer voltage 120 volts and could shock a small child), Boards with more the one jack per board (if only one jack is plugged into, the other jacks go "live").  SP could be used in the same applications as DT and RC where higher voltages are present
